Skirts & Shirts covers all the skills taught in our Level 1 school year program in one compact week. Students will choose between different silhouettes to create a skirt that suits their individual personalities. Those already skilled with our entry level skirt projects may choose to challenge their skills by constructing a jean, western or dirndl skirt.

During the second half of the week students will explore and make casual shirts, adding to their skill base by learning facings, gathering, tucks or bindings. Students will make a minimum of two projects.

The week is a great opportunity to strengthen skills while having fun! Students should bring their project fabric with them on the first day.

Students must have completed beginner sewing to join this class.

Dates: July 16 – 20, 9:00 – 4:00…$450.

Sewing of actual projects will only take place if time allows. All levels welcome.

Sophie P hoodieDesign Studio

Bring your ideas with you! This design program gives students the opportunity to use their current skills to create new garments. Fashion, music, art, current events, functional needs, and personal style will all be explored as we approach the design process from individual points of view.

After development of their ideas, students will select the patterns they will use to make their garments. Each student will be encouraged to alter the existing pattern in some way to make their garments more personal. A shopping trip will take place on Monday afternoon for students to purchase fabric for their designs. Parents will need to provide an appropriate budget for the fabric shopping trip.

Dates: July 30 – August 3, 9:00 – 4:00…$450.
